The Certification Exam Schedule, the Recertification Meeting Finder, and Recertification Credit Information web pages previously found on our web site have been moved to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s web site. The new home page to access these pages is PaPlants Bureau of Plant Industry. By clicking on this link, you will be leaving our web site.
The PaPlants web site is a work in progress. Many changes have been made in just the first month due to user feedback. This information will be updated as changes are made on their web site. We have also developed a "Navigating the PaPlants Web Site" pdf handout that you can use to learn about this new web site. However, please be sure to check back here for updates. The pesticide information on this web site can be found by highlighting “Pesticide Programs” in the list on the left. If you are looking for recertification meetings, click on “Recertification Course Locator.” In addition to searching by region and category, you can also search by meeting type, county, and a range of dates. If you are looking for exam schedules, click on “Certification Exam Locations.” In addition to searching by region, you can also search by county, specific location, and for a range of dates.
If you are looking for recertification credit status, click on the “Applicator Credit/Business Information.” You will need to enter your “Certification ID” and “Last Name.” Under the “Applicator Information” heading, you can find your certification ID, expiration date, and certification type. In the “Applicator Categories” section you can see the categories you have and the number of credits needed by when. Finally, under the “Business Information” heading, you can find your business name and address, categories certified in, BU Number (for commercial applicators), insurance validation, and the business license expiration.
If you choose to register on the PaPlants web site, you can access more information about your certification, such as the specific recertification meetings you attended with the number of credits received. You will also have access to all payment information, among other things.
To register on the PaPlants web site, click on "Log in/Register to View your Account" on the home page. However, you will need a special "PaPlants ID" and "PIN ID" to register. These numbers will be included on all PDA correspondence or you can contact your Regional PDA Office for them. Once you have these numbers, choose "Register" from the "Log in" page. After filling in the required information, including a "User Name" and "Password" click on "Save." Now you are back at the "Log in" page. This time enter your "User Name" and "Password" and click on "Login." This is what you need from now on to gain access to your recertification meeting history, payments, and account status. Businesses will be able to view their insurance information and a list of the applicators assigned to their licenses as well.
