Pesticide Storage Security
Due to recent national events, we bring to focus the need for higher levels of security with pesticides and pesticide application equipment to guard against unauthorized use that could have tragic consequences.
The PA Department of Agriculture has facilitated a voluntary notification system where aerial applicators will notify the PEMA of their applications. PEMA will then forward this information to the appropriate county 911 and emergency coordinators. These plans were made to enable 911 to respond instantly and positively to reports of aerial applications easing public concerns that may arise this first spray season since 9/11/01.
